Dresden (dpa/sn) - Because of the problems with the supply of medicines, Saxony's presidents of the Medical Association, the Dental Association and the Pharmacist Association have asked the Minister of Health to act quickly. The delivery problems with medicines are a great danger for the continued functioning of the Saxon health system, said the chamber presidents in a joint statement on Tuesday. The position of health policy, according to which there are no supply bottlenecks due to the lack of medicines, has long been overtaken by reality.
"Although the essential foundations that led to this regrettable situation lie in federal law, the President believes that this should not prevent the state government from taking action against this untenable situation," the statement said. The chamber presidents called for general decrees to be issued by the responsible Saxon supervisory authority in order to facilitate the availability of urgently needed medicines for patient care.
