Görlitz (dpa/sn) - According to the organizers, around 15,000 people attended the three-day Lausitz Church Congress in Görlitz. The meeting was organized jointly by the church districts of Löbau-Zittau and Bautzen-Kamenz of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saxony and the church districts of Lower Lusatia, Cottbus and Silesian Upper Lusatia of the Evangelical Church in Berlin-Brandenburg.

The Kirchentag was characterized by dialogue and listening. There were peace talks and German-Polish encounters on the Old Town Bridge, which connects Germany with Poland. Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) also attended the Kirchentag.
