Saxony: Attack on drug dealers: Charges brought against teenagers

Dresden (dpa/sn) - After the attack on a drug dealer on New Year's Eve 2021 in Dresden, the Dresden public prosecutor's office accused an 18-year-old of attempted manslaughter. According to their information on Friday, he is accused of having shot the 20-year-old twice with a blank gun when picking up the ordered drugs. In the course of the ensuing argument, he is said to have fatally injured the dealer with knife wounds "with the intention of killing him". Only rapid police intervention prevented worse things from happening.

The 18-year-old has been in custody since the New Year 2022 and is also accused of armed drug trafficking, as is a 19-year-old who is at large. According to the information, she was present at the meeting and took care of the finances, while the 18-year-old took over the ordered around 500 grams of marijuana for 3400 euros - and according to the public prosecutor's office, shortly thereafter attacked the man.

According to the investigating authority, it has not yet been possible to clarify why. The two German suspects, who were friends at the time of the crime, have no criminal record and have not yet provided any information on the allegations. The investigators are convinced that they saw the profitable resale of marijuana, hashish or amphetamines as a source of income to finance their livelihood.
