Dresden (dpa / sn) - The Free State supports the renovation of the bobsleigh run in Altenberg (Eastern Ore Mountains) with 2.61 million euros. This is a "clear signal" to further strengthen the winter sports location of Altenberg, where the luge world championships will take place in January 2024, said Interior Minister Armin Schuster (CDU) on the cabinet decision on Tuesday in Dresden. The Altenberg racing sled and bobsled track and the successful Saxon runners are advertising mediums for Saxony all over the world.
On the ice track, an integral part of the national and international competition calendar, the finish and press building are to be expanded and the track up to curve 3 is to be roofed over a length of about 30 meters in the immediate women's toboggan start area.
