Saxony: cable car to Augustusburg paused for three weeks

Augustusburg (dpa/sn) - The cable car to Augustusburg is out of service for three weeks. The reason for this is maintenance work, during which worn railway sleepers are also replaced on the route, as reported by the Mittelsachsen transport association. In addition, the two cars are being made fit for spring, some of the 252 rollers over which the wire rope runs are being replaced and the control system being serviced.

From March 25th, the train will again take passengers up the mountain from Erdmannsdorf to Augustusburg (Middle Saxony district). The route is a good 1.2 kilometers long and has an incline of up to 20 percent. The railway opened in 1911.
