Saxony: CDU politician Clemen moves up as a member of the state parliament

Dresden (dpa / sn) - The CDU politician Robert Clemen is again a member of the Saxon state parliament. As the parliament announced on Tuesday, the 55-year-old from Leipzig is replacing the previous domestic policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group, Rico Anton. He resigned his mandate on August 1 and is now working as the new district administrator in the Erzgebirge district.

Clemen is a musician by profession and used to play the trombonist in a symphony orchestra. Most recently he was a producer. In 1999 he entered the state parliament for the first time. In 2014 he failed to re-enter Parliament, but three years later he succeeded. Now this story is repeating itself. Clemen is expected to be sworn in at the plenum on August 29th.
