Dresden (dpa / sn) - A cyclist was run over by a tram in Dresden and fatally injured. The 54-year-old was run over early Thursday afternoon when crossing the tram tracks near the main train station and died at the scene of the accident, the police said. According to the fire brigade, a total of 50 emergency services were on site and heaved the man out from under the tram with heavy equipment. An emergency doctor could only determine the death of the man.

According to the information from Thursday, the exact course of the accident is currently being determined. Police are asking witnesses to come forward with relevant information. The fire brigade also points out that first responders and eyewitnesses can contact the Unfallkasse Sachsen and the Dresden crisis service for psychological help.
