Saxony: District of Leipzig: Interactive map on waste prevention

Großpösna (dpa/sn) - The district of Leipzig is working on an online overview map for waste prevention and resource protection. According to a spokeswoman, the project is part of the "Zero Waste - zero waste in the district of Leipzig" project, which was presented on Tuesday at a kick-off event in Großpösna. Among the guests at the Cröbern central landfill site was Saxony's Minister of the Environment, Wolfram Günther (Greens): "We have always taken waste for granted and are fundamentally reversing it with avoidance concepts," he said. The "Zero Waste" measure in Leipzig is co-financed by the Free State.

According to the Leipzig district, the "Zero Waste" project includes various educational and informational offers as well as practical tips for waste avoidance and for more resource protection. The central element should be the interactive map - with offers for repairs, unpackaged, exchange, rental or partial offers, for used or social department stores, for sustainable gastronomy and with instructions for self-help.

The card is expected to be available online for consumers in the fourth quarter of 2023. According to the district spokeswoman, actors who later want to be represented on the map can already register.
