Dresden (dpa / sn) - Despite a hostage-taking, numerous people are still out and about in downtown Dresden. Some visitors walked through the Striezelmarkt, as a dpa reporter reported. The market was not closed off. However, the stalls remained closed. An announcement was made about the police operation and the visitors were asked for their understanding. Right next to it is the Altmarkt-Galerie. The police had reported a hostage situation on Saturday morning. The area around the Altmarkt-Galerie was cordoned off. The police had called for avoiding the city center.
