Dresden (dpa / sn) - Dresden has a new police chief. Lutz Rodig was introduced to the office as head of the Dresden police department on Tuesday. He succeeds Jörg Kubiessa, who has been state police chief since April 1. Rodig (58) previously headed the police department in Zwickau and was previously employed as a department head in the Ministry of the Interior to fight crime. Around 2,600 employees are currently working in the Dresden Police Headquarters. The authority is responsible with ten districts for Dresden and the districts of Meissen and Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains.
