Saxony: Dresden Spring in the Palais allows around 40,000 flowers to bloom

Dresden (dpa/sn) - After a three-year break, around 40,000 spring flowers will bloom in the Palais in the Great Garden in Dresden from Friday, matching the end of winter. The flowers have been arranged by some of the best-known Saxon horticultural companies together with florists into elaborate scenes, as the organizer announced on Thursday in Dresden. For ten days, flower lovers can examine the ephemeral splendor - including more than 4000 different tulips, 2000 different daffodils and more than 5000 other bulb plants.

"I am very pleased that there is a new edition of this special exhibition this year. It is wonderful how the centuries-old tradition of garden art is being brought to life and continued here in Dresden in this way," said Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU ). The show testifies to the creativity, diligence and skill of everyone involved. According to the organizers, the Dresden Spring in the Palais is the most important flower show of its kind in Germany.
