Dresden (dpa / sn) - The volleyball players of Dresdner SC caught a difficult fate in the European CEV Cup. The third in the championship meets the Italian top club UYBA Volley Busto Arsizio in the first round. That was the result of the draw on Tuesday in Luxembourg. The first leg takes place in Italy between 13th and 15th December, with the second leg a week later in Dresden.
The two teams faced each other in the opening round of the CEV Cup back in December 2018. At that time, the women from the Elbe town were eliminated after two defeats. "It's a difficult draw, but of course a very attractive one. We're also looking forward to meeting our former player Lena Stigrot," explained DSC trainer Alexander Waibl. After three years with DSC, the national player switched to Italian promoted team Rome last summer and is now at Busto Arsizio.
