Saxony: Dresden volleyball players win against Vilsbiburg

Dresden (dpa/sn) - The volleyball players at Dresdner SC have reported back with success after the 0:3 defeat against Aachen. Coach Alexander Waibl's team defeated the Roten Raben Vilsbiburg 3-1 on Tuesday (25:22, 24:26, 25:20, 28:26). The women from the Elbe town fought for their fifth victory on the eighth day of the Bundesliga match and kept Vilsbiburg at bay.

An exciting game developed in front of 2131 spectators. The Dresdeners started very concentrated, served very powerfully and were able to set up a variable attacking game from a stable acceptance. Even in the crucial phase of the first set, the hosts kept their nerves.

In the second section, small errors and inaccuracies crept in with the DSC. In addition, the Red Ravens increased. In the final phase, the Waibl protégés were unable to convert two set balls, while Vilsbiburg used the first chance to equalize the set. But the six-time champion showed a good reaction afterwards. The women from the Elbe town now hit the ball with more pressure, stabilized the acceptance and used their chances in attack.

In the fourth section, things got tight again when the guests were able to pull away with four points. Alexander Waibl had a good hand in the closing stages when Julia Wesser came on for Lara Berger on the diagonal. The DSC initially fended off four set balls from the ravens and was then able to convert the first match point itself after 116 minutes.
