Saxony: Dresden volleyball players win victory in Wiesbaden

Dresden (dpa/sn) - The women's volleyball team at Dresdner SC won their second win on the fourth day of the Bundesliga match. After a close game at VC Wiesbaden, coach Alexander Waibl's team narrowly won 3:2 (25:20, 25:23, 23:25, 18:25, 15:11).

In a battle-focused game, the women from Dresden started with powerful serves and good defence. However, the consistency was sometimes lacking in the second half, so that Wiesbaden was able to catch up clear deficits again and again. But in the decisive phase, Dresden prevailed with good block work.

After a ten-minute break, the guests' game thread broke. They made more and more mistakes, wobbled in the assumption that there was a lack of coordination and that there was also a lack of penetrating power in attack. On the other hand, the hostesses acted more courageously and fought to equalize the set.

Led by their captain Jennifer Janiska, who was the most successful attacker with 24 points and was voted best player, the DSC women stabilized in the tie-break and decided the game after 124 minutes with a submission by Monique Strubbe.
