Saxony: Driver drives against power pole: seriously injured

Lugau (dpa/sn) - A driver drove into a concrete power pole in Lugau (Erzgebirge district) and was seriously injured. On Sunday morning, the 19-year-old left the road in the Erlbach-Kirchberg district for an unclear reason, the police said on Monday. According to the police, the mast broke through at a height of about one meter and was only hanging on the lines. Since there might still be electricity on the line, the emergency services first had to ground the vehicle when the man was rescued. The injured came to a hospital. In order to be able to repair the mast, the electricity was temporarily shut off.
