Saxony: Eichinger operates: Zwickau thinks about signing up

Zwickau (dpa/sn) - Third division football club FSV Zwickau is considering signings after Noel Eichinger's serious injury. "From a sporting point of view, we would like to sign someone else, we'll have to see whether it makes economic sense," said Zwickau's manager Toni Wachsmuth during the half-time break in the home game against newly promoted SpVgg Bayreuth on "MagentaSport".

The 21-year-old new signing from the fifth division team Wormatia Worms broke his right metatarsal in training last week and will be out for the rest of the first half of the season. The striker, who celebrated a goal on his debut on matchday one in the 3-2 win over Hallesches FC, underwent surgery on Sunday and according to Wachsmuth will not be able to return to training until November at the earliest.

Since Zwickau only has a small squad of 22 men, the Swans want to do it again. "Preferably a classic nine that guarantees a lot of goals," said Wachsmuth, "but the whole league is looking for that." The transfer window in Germany closes on September 1st.
