Saxony: Employers want to take on a pilot degree for metalworkers

Dresden (dpa/sn) - The Saxon employers' association VSME has approved the pilot degree for the metal and electrical industry in Baden-Württemberg and wants to adopt it quickly. "The transfer of the negotiation result to Saxony should be coordinated and signed quickly in the next few days," explained VSME negotiator Stefan Koch on Friday in Dresden.

In the southwest, the collective bargaining parties agreed on Friday night after twelve hours of negotiations and an imminent termination on wage increases of 5.2 percent by June 2023 and another 3.3 percent from May 2024 over a period of 24 months. In addition, there are tax-free one-off payments totaling 3,000 euros.

Both the employers' association Gesamtmetall and the board of directors of IG Metall recommended the adoption of the result in all collective bargaining areas.
