With its small-scale economy and many people on low incomes, Saxony is in a special position. The responsibility lies with the federal states, especially in the areas of sport, culture and voluntary work.
According to Homann, the clubs have always been economical with energy because this is largely financed by membership fees. "The current price increases for gas and electricity clearly overwhelm the clubs and volunteers." But you also need a clear signal to the federal government that the energy price cap is the right model for the East. "Our proposal is to give the energy prices at 80 percent of the previous year's consumption for the price from 2021. That's the cap. This creates security for consumers. Everyone would then know what to expect.
