Saxony: fire in a social therapy home: five injured

Glauchau (dpa/sn) - Five people were injured in a fire in a social therapy home in Glauchau (Zwickau district). According to initial findings, the bed of a 57-year-old resident caught fire on Tuesday morning, police said. Firefighters extinguished the fire and brought the residents to safety. Three residents and two employees of the home were taken to a hospital with suspected smoke inhalation, it said. According to a police spokesman on Tuesday, the room where the fire broke out is not habitable for the time being. The cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage were not immediately known.
