Saxony: heavy-duty transport damaged overhead line of the tram

Dresden (dpa/sn) - A heavy-duty transporter damaged a tram overhead line in Dresden on Friday, causing massive traffic disruptions. As the police department announced in the evening, the 30-year-old driver wanted to drive under a bridge and tore down the line. Two cars were also damaged by the defective lines, it said. People were not harmed. Out of town, Leipziger Strasse remained closed for about three hours. The extent of the damage is still unclear.
