Leipzig/Dresden (dpa/sn) - During demonstrations against the high prices and the federal government's Russia and energy policies, several participants from different camps clashed on Monday evening in Leipzig. "There was a physical altercation and seven people were injured, four of whom received medical attention," a police spokesman said on Monday. It is not yet clear what sparked the dispute and how many people were involved. It is determined because of dangerous bodily harm. According to the information, a total of around 1000 people were on the streets in the city area.

There were around 105 meetings nationwide, which were attended by an estimated 32,000 people, according to a spokesman at the Interior Ministry's situation center in Dresden. In Chemnitz alone, around 3,000 people took to the streets, in Schwarzenberg and Zwickau around 2,500 each and in Bautzen around 2,000.
