Saxony: Judgment against the head of the Free Saxony not final

Chemnitz (dpa/sn) - The head of the right-wing extremist Free Saxony, Martin Kohlmann, is taking action against his conviction for incitement to hatred. The district court in Chemnitz informed on Thursday that he had lodged an appeal against the judgment from last week. The judge's decision is therefore not final. The court sentenced Kohlmann to a fine of 120 daily rates of 50 euros each. The occasion was a speech as a city councilor for the Pro Chemnitz movement. In it he is said to have denied that there were gas chambers on the territory of the German Reich. Kohlmann described the court's decision as a "clear misjudgement".
