Dresden (dpa/sn) - The city of Dresden and the employment agency have, according to their own statements, met with a great response with their job exchange for refugees from Ukraine. Shortly after the start of the stock exchange, the stands of around 40 companies and associations were crowded around on Monday morning. In addition to chip manufacturers such as Globalfoundries and Infineon, the Hotel and Restaurant Association, the Chamber of Crafts and the Saxon Steamship Company were also present.
According to Mayor Dirk Hilbert (FDP), around 8,500 people from Ukraine now live in Dresden. Many would like to work during their stay and earn their own living. While the first priority was accommodation, one now has to take care of finding jobs. The head of the Dresden labor agency, Jan Pratzka, described the expellees as highly motivated.
