Saxony: Leipzig is planning new community accommodation for migrants

Leipzig (dpa/sn) - The city of Leipzig wants to build new accommodation for several hundred refugees. The new building is to be built on a previously undeveloped property in the west of Leipzig and go into operation in 2028, the city administration announced on Thursday. Three residential buildings should be able to accommodate up to 368 people. The city council still has to approve the plan. Due to the sharp increase in the number of refugees, all existing homes in Leipzig are currently occupied. In the short term, migrants are housed in emergency shelters.
