Leipzig (dpa/sn) - The police in Leipzig counted significantly more operations at demonstrations in the year that was coming to an end than in 2021. The officers were deployed at over 1700 rallies relevant to the police, as the police department announced on Friday. Compared to the previous year, this was 500 more demo missions.
Despite the numerous protests, the year remained very peaceful, it was said. In total, the directorate counted around 177,000 operations - more than 480 per day - throughout the year. This was a little more than in 2021. Thefts and traffic accidents were particularly common.
