Saxony: Less congestion on Saxony's autobahns 2022: Exception A4

Dresden (dpa/sn) - Last year, more than 13,000 traffic disruptions were reported on the 580 kilometers of motorway in Saxony. According to the ADAC in Dresden on Thursday, that was almost 8,000 fewer than in 2021. This means that the situation has “relented significantly” compared to previous years. However, with 5146 fault reports and a total of 11,817 kilometers of traffic jams, the A4 Görlitz-Eisenach stood out, with the area around the Dresden-West triangle in particular causing great frustration - among drivers and residents. "Excitement number one", however, was the construction site between Leisnig (Central Saxony) and Mutzschen (Leipzig district) on the A14 - with a total of more than 3500 kilometers of traffic jams and 1663 hours of traffic jams.

Overall, according to the ADAC, the length of traffic jams on the seven sections of the freeway in Bavaria fell by 4,534 to 26,844 kilometers compared to 2021 and the number of reported disruptions by 7,881 to 13,277. The busiest times were the Ascension weekend (May 28/29) with around 4800 hours, the 18/19 June with 5100 hours and the end of summer vacation (27/28 August) with 4950 hours. It was the quietest on the A13 Dresden-Berlin motorway with 117 reported disruptions and 117 kilometers of traffic jams, and on the A38 Leipzig-Süd with 220 reports and 353 kilometers of traffic jams.
