Saxony: Looking for trees for Christmas markets in Dresden and Pirna

Dresden/Pirna (dpa/sn) - Three months before the festival, suitable trees are being sought for two Christmas markets in Dresden and Pirna (Saxon Switzerland). After a two-year Corona break, the organizers hope, according to the announcement on Tuesday, that the Augustus market and Canaletto market can take place again. Preparations for this were already in full swing. In the course of this, a fir or blue spruce tree that is eight to ten meters high and as straight as possible and evenly grown all around is needed “that someone has on their property and would like to give it away”. The tree should be free and the property should be easily accessible for heavy equipment. The organizer of the two Christmas markets will bear the cost of felling and removing the tree.
