Zwickau (dpa / sn) - A 35-year-old lost control of his vehicle under the influence of drugs on the Autobahn 72 near Zwickau and crashed into the middle barrier. He and his two passengers were unharmed in the accident on Sunday, the police said on Monday. Accordingly, the man was driving on the A72 in the direction of Hof when he left the roadway between the Zwickau-Ost and Zwickau-West junctions and drove into the guardrail.
This was severely damaged over a length of about twelve meters. The 35-year-old's car was no longer roadworthy after the accident and had to be towed away. The resulting property damage is estimated by the police at around 40,000 euros. A drug test on the driver was positive. The police are investigating.
