Leipzig / Dresden (dpa / sn) - Saxony's Interior Minister Armin Schuster (CDU) emphasizes in the face of a patent dispute over assault rifles that the Saxon police remain operational at all times. The police did not have to destroy their service rifles or return them without replacement, the ministry tweeted on Thursday.
The background is a judgment by the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court in a dispute between the manufacturer Haenel GmbH from Thuringia and its competitor Heckler
"The judgment of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court obliges the delivery company to recall commercial customers. The police are not," said the Ministry of the Interior in Dresden. Saxony had ordered 2,300 of the rifles, around 2,200 of which had already been delivered.
