Saxony: Minister of the Interior Schuster: Don't offer any space to extremism

Dresden (dpa / sn) - After the plans for a coup in Germany became known, Saxony's Interior Minister Armin Schuster (CDU) called for a "zero tolerance policy" towards extremists of all kinds. "The investigations show once again that we are not dealing with "harmless muddleheads" here. They are ready to put their crude narratives, conspiracy ideologies or "Day X fantasies" into practice with force of arms," he said on Wednesday evening the German Press Agency in Dresden. Saxony's strategy is aimed at not allowing even a millimeter of space for extremism in any form.

During a raid on Wednesday morning, the Federal Prosecutor's Office had 25 people from the so-called Reich Citizens' Scene arrested on suspicion of terrorism. According to the authority, around 3,000 officers were deployed in eleven federal states. There were also two arrests in the Erzgebirge district.
