Dresden (dpa/sn) - The Saxon parishes invite you to celebrate St. Martin's Day on Friday. In many places, devotions and lantern processions are planned, the Evangelical Lutheran Church announced on Tuesday. On November 11, Saint Martin is traditionally remembered, who, according to legend, shared his coat with a freezing beggar as a Roman soldier. Most Martins services are scheduled for the afternoon at 4 or 5 p.m. This is usually followed by lantern parades and sometimes campfires with mulled wine and children's punch.
