Saxony: Naked in the maze: action in Kohren-Sahlis attracts nudist fans

Kohren-Sahlis (dpa/sn) - Shivering at naturism: dozens of fans of naturism were not deterred by the cool temperatures on Sunday and populated the maze of the senses in Kohren-Sahlis (Leipzig district). "Because it's cold, you can leave your jacket on," said organizer Jörg Günther. The nudists could also warm up with mulled wine, coffee, tea or potato soup. By the early afternoon, more than 50 visitors had come, including from Switzerland, Bavaria, Hesse and Berlin, said Günther. However, the nudist movement lacks young people, most of the visitors are "older semesters".

Naturism dates back to the turn of the 20th century. She later had many followers, especially in the GDR. It is still widespread today, especially when bathing in the Baltic Sea or in inland lakes. In the Harz Mountains, for example, there is also a naturist trail where hikers can roam naked through nature.

According to the Association for Naturism, there are more than 130 naturist clubs in Germany. "These maintain beautiful grounds and offer their members and guests sports, games, relaxation and nature experiences," says the website. According to the information, the nudists are concerned with harmony with nature.

"It's good to be naked in nature," says maze operator Günther. The nudist day was held here for the seventh time - and there should be a sequel next year. With the high hedges, the naked people in the 3.5-kilometer labyrinth are undisturbed from outside looks.
