Dresden (dpa/sn) - Another nine projects for structural change in the Saxon lignite regions receive significant financial support. 6.2 million euros will flow into the renovation of the Muskau forest railway and 2.5 million euros will be made available for the construction of an environmental education center on the fishing farm in Kleinholscha in Lusatia, as the Agency for Structural Development announced on Friday.

The city of Leipzig will receive support amounting to 5.6 million euros for bridge renovations and 4.1 million euros will go to the Mittelsachsen district for the expansion of tourist cycle paths. By the end of September, a total of 30 municipal projects had received positive notifications of federal funds totaling around 51 million.
