Dresden/Leipzig (dpa/sn) - After a smooth start on Monday, people in Saxony can expect milder temperatures before Christmas. There is a storm warning for Monday, freezing rain means danger of black ice, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced. With up to 4 degrees, it will be much milder on Monday than in the past few days. Moderate to stormy winds can still cause snow drifts locally in Bavaria. The rain will pull away on Tuesday night. With low temperatures of 0 degrees, it will remain windy to stormy.

According to the meteorologists, Tuesday will be cloudy but mostly dry. The temperatures climb up to 8 degrees, but it remains windy. At night it cools down to 0 degrees with persistent wind.

Wednesday starts with mild temperatures of up to 9 degrees and heavy clouds. It can get wet at times. Storm gusts are still possible locally. Temperatures will drop to 2 degrees on Thursday. During the day Thursday brings up to 9 degrees again, lots of clouds and wind for the Free State. The wind continued into Friday night. With lows of 3 degrees, the temperatures before Christmas will remain above freezing, according to the DWD.
