Dresden (dpa/sn) - The administrative court in Dresden must decide whether a street theater performance planned by right-wing extremists could be banned by the assembly authority. The right-wing extremist splinter party Freie Sachsen has filed a lawsuit against the requirements of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district, as the court in Dresden announced on Tuesday.
The "symbolic trial" against Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) was to take place as part of a demonstration in Heidenau near Dresden on Monday. "A rag doll and a symbolic pillory were registered" as "aids". According to the statement of claim, this was also described in the application.
The assembly authority initially confirmed the registration last Thursday and issued some conditions regarding the assembly. On the day of the demonstration itself, the conditions were expanded. The event had previously been advertised on the Internet with a video. In the video, a man wearing a red and orange prison suit, with a sack over his head and handcuffed is shown inside a vehicle. The person is obviously intended to represent Habeck. A voice can be heard announcing an alleged verdict: "You, Robert Habeck, are sentenced by the people to 16 weeks in the pillory on the local market square." Only about 60 people came to the market square for the action on Monday evening. A figure mounted on a pickup truck in a pillory remained cloaked.
According to the Dresden public prosecutor, there is an investigation into the video. There is an initial suspicion of public incitement to commit crimes, which is a criminal offense according to the law.
