Saxony: RKI reports corona incidence for Saxony of 132.4

Dresden (dpa/sn) - According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the seven-day incidence in Saxony fell to 132.4 on Thursday. On Wednesday the value was still 136.9 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week. Statewide, the incidence as of Thursday was 262.6.

However, experts assume that many corona cases are not recorded because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test. Only these are counted in the statistics.

The highest incidence within Saxony was reported for the city of Leipzig at 192.6, the lowest for the district of Görlitz at 87.8. Saxony-wide there were 1092 new infections and 9 deaths. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 15,506 people have died in connection with Corona in Bavaria.
