Saxony: RKI reports incidence for Saxony below 150

Dresden (dpa/sn) - In Saxony, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the seven-day incidence was 148.6 on Tuesday. This emerges from figures from the RKI dashboard. Exactly one week ago, the RKI had given the number of registered new infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week as 224.9. Nationwide, the value on Tuesday was 307.2.

However, experts assume that many corona cases are not recorded because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test. Only these are counted in the statistics. In addition, not all health authorities report their data on a daily basis, especially at the weekend and at the beginning of the week there can be a delay.

Within Saxony, the infection process is quite different. The city of Leipzig had the highest incidence value on Tuesday with 209.4. The district with the lowest value was Görlitz with 80.6. Saxony-wide there were 1523 registered new infections and 10 deaths. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 15,491 people have been proven to have died in connection with Corona in Bavaria.
