Dresden (dpa/sn) - The Saxony Economic Development Agency (WFS) sees opportunities for mechanical engineering in Kazakhstan. The country is the largest economy in Central Asia and is currently pushing ahead with the modernization of its economy, WFS Managing Director Thomas Horn said on Wednesday. This makes it a promising market for Saxon companies - also as an alternative to the stopped activities in Russia. Various talks will be held in Kazakhstan on a business trip until September 24.
According to economic development, there are around 1,000 companies in Saxon mechanical engineering. They have an export quota of more than 50 percent. In Kazakhstan, more than 3,000 companies with around 120,000 employees are part of the industry.
