Saxony: Saxony invests 600 million euros in technology funding

Dresden (dpa/sn) - Saxony wants to spend 600 million euros on technology funding in the coming years. "Thanks to European and Saxon funding, Saxony is excellently positioned to promote technology over the next few years," said Economics Minister Martin Dulig (SPD) in Dresden on Wednesday, referring to a cabinet decision from the previous day. 503 million euros come from the European Regional Development Fund, with the Free State contributing the rest. The money should flow until the end of 2027. The level of funding remains constant in relation to the previous funding period (2014 to 2020). With the support program one wants to further strengthen the innovative power and thus the competitiveness of Saxon companies, it said.

According to the ministry, the maximum subsidy per company and year will be increased from EUR 20,000 to EUR 40,000. The guideline will come into force on January 5, 2023. From this date, project outlines can also be submitted via the Saxon Development Bank's funding portal.
