Saxony: Saxony receives 590 million euros from EU social funds

Dresden (dpa/sn) - Saxony can claim 590 million euros from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) in the current funding period. Economics Minister Martin Dulig (SPD) announced investments for more social justice on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the EU Commission approved the Free State's ESF program. In addition, the state, municipalities and companies are contributing around 400 million euros to co-finance the projects.

"This is a really good signal of stability in difficult times," explained Dulig. Invest in measures to help people deal with economic and social challenges. "In this way we create improved access to jobs, qualifications or support for social integration." The current EU funding period runs until 2027.
