Saxony: Saxony's winegrowers celebrate the anniversary of the Saxon Wine Route

Meissen (dpa/sn) - At this year's Open Winery Day in the Elbe Valley, the 30th anniversary of the Saxon Wine Route is also being celebrated. On the 65-kilometer route along the slopes of the Elbe between Pirna and Diesbar-Seußlitz, winegrowers also open their cellars for inspection, invite you to concerts and tastings, as the Elbland Dresden Tourist Association in Meißen announced on Monday. Almost 50 wineries and winegrowers take part in the program, as well as rustic taverns. In 2020 there were around 1700 winegrowers, of whom around 80 operated wine commercially. The number of so-called ostrich or broom inns, where self-producers market their wines, is currently 45.
