Leipzig (dpa/sn) - Saxon cities and municipalities can now submit their applications to host the eleventh state garden show in 2029. The deadline ends on October 15, 2023, as the Ministry of the Environment announced on Thursday. According to the Free State, it will grant up to five million euros as a subsidy for the state garden show. "The garden shows have established themselves as an important component of sustainable urban development," said Saxony's Environment Minister Wolfram Günther (Greens).
At the beginning of February, the cabinet decided to open an application process for hosting the eleventh State Horticultural Show. Most recently, the Saxon State Horticultural Show 2022 took place in Torgau. The tenth Saxon State Horticultural Show will be held in Aue-Bad Schlema in 2026.
