Saxony: Saxony takes over the pilot degree for metalworkers

Dresden (dpa/sn) - IG Metall and the Saxon employers' association VSME are taking over the pilot degree from Baden-Württemberg for the metal and electrical industry in the Free State. Both sides signed the collective agreement for the approximately 180,000 employees in the metal and electrical industry in Saxony on Thursday in Dresden, as the union announced.

Accordingly, wages and salaries are to rise by 5.2 percent as of June 1 of the coming year, eleven months later by a further 3.3 percent. In addition, the employees receive a one-off payment of 3,000 euros that is free of taxes and duties. The term is 24 months. This is a noticeable relief, said IG Metall negotiator Irene Schulz. "Thus, the collective bargaining policy in Saxony supports purchasing power and the economy."
