Saxony: Saxony will not create digital administration by the end of the year

Dresden (dpa/sn) - Saxony will miss the federal deadline for the digitization of administrative services by the end of the year. This emerges from a response from the state government to a small request from AfD member of parliament Ivo Teichmann on the implementation of the so-called Online Access Act (OZG). "Full implementation of the OZG by December 31, 2022 will not be achieved," it says. Other federal states such as Saxony-Anhalt or Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are also lagging behind the schedule.

According to Teichmann, the Saxon authorities should have digitized 575 administrative services by the end of the year. According to the state government, "so far 62 online application assistants have been made available for subsequent use by the Saxon municipalities", 50 more are currently being created. Teichmann called for more speed in digitization on Monday. Germany lags miles behind countries like Estonia, criticized the MP.
