Dresden (dpa/sn) - Once as seductive as Carmen in the Bizet opera of the same name: The Semperoper in Dresden is making room in the wardrobe for the New Year and is selling costumes for the first time on January 22nd. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., interested parties can browse the cloakrooms in the foyer for clothing, costume parts, hats, shoes and leftover fabric and buy them at prices between 3 and 99 euros, the Semperoper announced on Tuesday. On offer are handmade unique pieces from the productions "Nabucco", "Le nozze di Figaro", "Carmen", "La Cenerentola", "Dr. Faust" and "Mathis der Maler".

According to the opera, more than 2000 costumes are made every year in the costume workshops of the Saxon State Theater - made to measure. The opera house lured the astonishing range of the most varied items of clothing in all imaginable materials into treasures that not only made the hearts of opera and theater fans beat faster, but also made the hearts of fashion-conscious individualists beat faster.
