Saxony: Significantly more passengers at airports in Saxony

Dresden/Leipzig (dpa/sn) - With the expiry of numerous corona restrictions, more people are flying from Saxony on vacation again this year. The airports in Leipzig/Halle and Dresden recorded significant passenger growth in the first half of the year, as a spokesman for Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG announced on Thursday. Accordingly, the number of travelers rose to 901,852 at both airports from January to June. In 2021, there were only more than 95,000 passengers in the same period.

In addition, there were almost 48,300 take-offs and landings in the first six months of the year (2021: 39,634). The corona pandemic caused a sharp drop in passenger numbers at both airports in 2020 and 2021.
