Saxony: State Chancellery hands over donation for the wish car Saxony

Dresden (dpa/sn) - The Saxon State Chancellery supports the so-called wish car of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) in the Free State. Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) presented ASB Managing Director Stefan Mette with a donation of just under 900 euros on Friday. The money came from an auction of exhibits from the state chancellery's evidence room. 75,000 euros are needed annually for the project. "Every donation is welcome," said ASB spokeswoman Juliane Federowski.

Kretschmer said the donation is a small contribution that can help fulfill new wishes. "It's really great and touching work that the volunteers do. I'm grateful that they exist."

Since 2016, the Sachsen wish car has been accompanying seriously ill people to a place of longing. Since then, almost 200 requested trips have been organised. The project is financed exclusively by donations. Kretschmer took over the patronage in October 2021.
