Saxony: State parliament on regional development, refugees and housing

Dresden (dpa / sn) - Saxony's regional development minister Thomas Schmidt (CDU) wants to present a comprehensive balance sheet of his house for the first time in the state parliament today. The ministry was only founded in December 2019 and, as a cross-departmental department, is responsible for, among other things, development in rural areas, housing, the preservation of monuments and state planning.

Schmidt has put his government declaration under the motto "Regional development for lively regions". Afterwards, Parliament's current hour will deal with the topic of living in times of high energy costs. The left are demanding a protective shield for affordable rents and a moratorium on terminations. At the request of the Greens, the accommodation of refugees is to be debated.
