Freiberg (dpa/sn) - Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier wants to honor five women and four men from Saxony with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany today (12:00 p.m.) in Freiberg. This honors their commitment to social cohesion and the integration of refugees, as well as to work with senior citizens and support children.
Before that, Steinmeier would like to find out more about the integration of children from refugee families in a Freiberg elementary school. The Federal President has been in the Saxon mountain town since Tuesday. In his "Local Time" series of events, he moved his official residence for three days in order to exchange ideas with residents of Freiberg.
