Saxony: Stollenpfennig campaign brings in around 34,000 euros in donations

Radebeul (dpa/sn) - The Stollenpfennig campaign raised around 34,000 euros in donations last Advent. This is the third-best result since the collection was set up in 1994, the Diakonie Sachsen announced on Tuesday. The money goes to the aid organization "Brot für die Welt". With the Stollenpfennig campaign, people can throw their change from buying Stollen into a donation box. According to the Diakonie, there were 1,300 collection boxes in Saxon bakeries. Almost 730,000 euros have been donated since 1994.
